DOMAIN INFO:
If you recently changed your domain registration record or your domain
was only recently registered, you may have to use the IP address for 2
or 3 days until the change is reflected across all the DNS servers around
the Internet.
If your domain name was previously hosted somewhere else, you will need
to update your DNS information to the following:
ns1.templatepimps.com
ns2.templatepimps.com
EMAIL:
Login to the administrator control panel and add users and set up your
email. Use the info below to connect to your email with Outlook or
other email clients.
incoming mail (pop3): mail.mydomain.com
outgoing mail (smpt): mail.mydomain.com
account name: username@mydomain.com
password: password
IMPORTANT - You must authenticate when sending email. Go to the advanced
settings in outlook and toggle "same as incoming" or "My mailserver requires
authentication"
You can also use the web-based Squirrel Mail to read your email from any
internet browser. The path to squirrel mail is:
http://www.yourdomain/webmail
SUBDOMAINS:
If your hosting plan allows subdomains then you can create them using your web control panel. Important: You must notify us that you added a subdomain so we can add it to our DNS servers. Your subdomain will not work otherwise.
Subdomains will not work with WWW in front of them. This is a basic APACHE webserver limitation. Just use sub.domain.com in the webrowser address bar.
SCRIPTING:
For those who wish to use CGI scripts, the CGI-BIN path is:
/home/username/public_html/cgi-bin/
and for the browsable html dir:
/home/username/public_html
Be sure to secure your scripts, as any spam sent out using sendmail
will result in account deactivation.
UPLOADING YOUR SITE:
Upload your web files into the "public_html" directory. CGI files
have to be placed in the cgi-bin.
MYSQL DATABASE:
To access your MYSQL database you must login to your site admin panel
and create the database, user, AND password. Then you will need the following information to use your database once created:
mysql host: localhost
mysql username: see the panel for exact name
mysql password: pass you created in mysql panel
MS FRONTPAGE EXTENSIONS:
FP Extensions are disabled by defualt. Contact us if you would like them enabled. Note: You can still use Frontpage to edit or create your website without FP Extensions by editing your page with Frontpage then using FTP to upload your changes. FP Extensions is a special editing system that tracks and edits your site ON the webserver and has proven to be unreliable and easily corrupted in our opinion.
